Madeline Sporio filed an appeal (Sporio v. W.C.A.B. (SONGER CONST.) 553 Pa. 44 (1998) 717 A.2d 525) after the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board denied benefits following the death of her husband, Lawrence, from asbestos-related injuries. Mr. Sporio received a mesothelioma diagnosis caused by asbestos exposure while working as a bricklayer for 25 years.
