Shirley Clark filed an appeal (Clark v. Workers’ Comp. Appeals Bd. (1991) 230 Cal.App.3d 684) after the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board denied benefits following the death of her husband, John, from asbestos-related injuries. Mr. Clark worked as a stationary engineer for the Youth Authority where he suffered asbestos exposure while removing insulation from pipes and the interior of boilers.
