Chevron U.S.A., Inc. filed an appeal (Chevron U.S.A., Inc. v. Workers’ Comp. Appeals Bd. (1990) 219 Cal.App.3d 1265) after the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board awarded benefits to Lucille Steel following her husband’s mesothelioma death due to workplace asbestos exposure. Mrs. Steel’s husband worked as an insulator for Chevron from 1951 to 1975.
